As we look back on Pride month, we celebrate a few of our own members. Each June we present the KGMC President’s Award to a member who represents our ideals of both artistry and advocacy for all persons. This year the award was presented to Todd O’Dell, a dedicated member of KGMC for many years. The comments below are from Board President, Kyle Schellinger, celebrating Todd and everything he does for KGMC. Join us in congratulating Todd!
The Knoxville Gay Men’s Chorus is a volunteer organization that asked much of its members all of whom put in so much time and effort to make KGMC the success it has become. When I think of all of our members, I can not think of anyone who does more for KGMC than Todd O’Dell.
Todd goes the extra mile every day for the chorus. He works tirelessly to assist the board in finding grant opportunities that partner us with organizations that share our mission and vision for a better future for all of East Tennessee.
Todd also assists in making our yearly gala, A Little Night Music, a successful fundraising opportunity by seeing out donations for our auctions. He keeps the event running smoothly and his leadership shows his dedication to KGMC.
We really wouldn’t have grown to our present success without Todd. There are too man reasons to enumerate, but I can’t think of anyone better to receive this year’s KGMC PResident’s Award. Congratulations, Todd, and on behalf of the KGMC Board of Directors, thank you.
